World is facing an unprecedented pandemic. Over 2 million people are affected in over 196 countries and death toll crossed 1.5 lakhs. Pandemic is still in upswing. State of Kerala is also not different though the spread has been well controlled and death is held low by strong measures by Government and total support of the population. It is highly gratifying to note that all of our students and their families are safe from Virus. We contacted all students and ensured them our oneness and support.

We sincerely wish all our students a happy and meaningful new year. We are proud to have you all in our Programs. I am sure you are seriously involved in preparations of final examinations. We are with you all in your endeavor raise you academic achievements higher and higher. Some of you have to decided on a new academic curriculum. Be assured that in your way forward our support will follow you.

Dr P M Thomas, a fountain of Benevolence and Compassion ran his race and left this world to be with the Lord on this day 47 year back. He is still the great source of inspiration to all his descendants. His motto and Prayer " Lord your Spirit rule in our lives, your love illumine in and through us, and your service be emanated through us". Let us all keep the memories sweet and flowering !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dream comes true if it is followed up with genuine commitments. This year we have great dreams. We have the desire, commitments and wherewithal. And what is lacking? Nothing!! We envision to support nearly one hundred students to realize their dreams in academic realms. Foundation is moving toward the goal slowly but on steady pace.

Bible says "This is what the LORD Almighty says: ''''Give careful thought to your ways"". Dr P M Thomas Foundation did exactly that. A self assessment sheet was sent to all scholarship beneficiaries seeking their desires in their academic career, personality development and value of life. The response was fascinating and of course gratifying. Words cannot fully reflect the depth. Here are some samples

Here is response to our Self Analysis sheet from one of our beneficiary a plus 1 student,  "Self Assessment taps us to improve ourselves. This questionnaire helped me to understand myself. I decided to achieve 90% marks in my Plus 2 examinations and changed my preparations accordingly. In addition to this, I will give more importance to develop skills such as communication, good behaviour, helping mentality, punctuality etc". In another portion she writes "Moral values are very important for our personality development. Personality without values is nothing.

Wow! It was heart shattering!!! One hill disappearing in a flash! One part of a village washed out under the earth! All these happened in Wayanad District of Kerala in the last few days during heavy rains followed by huge landslides. Rain did havoc in other districts too like Malappuram, Idikki, Kannur etc. Every Keralite - not only them but people at large - had eyes wet when  heard and saw in media the human tragedy that ensued. Over 100 persons were killed as per the report. It is suggested that the number may go up. Innumerable houses were totally or partially destroyed.

Foundation is committed to grow fast. Two challenges are to be overcome. Identification of beneficiaries is the key issue. Currently around forty students are receiving Scholarship. Planned aim for this year is to support eighty or more students spread across the State. Addressing School/College authorities did not yield any results. Other course of action is necessary. All views and opinions are most welcome. 

Discussions with a few victims in Nilambur area provided a spine-chilling picture of post flood situation.  A few reputed persons also narrated the painful picture of suffering and despair in the area. Foundation has to move fast.

We are right now behind 39 students, a long way below our goal. We had plans of support about 75 students this year. We are pushing hard to identify real and genuine beneficiaries. Let us hope we meet the target before December end.
